At BiG North Florida, we believe every person has gifts to share, a purpose to pursue, and a valuable place in the world.
BiG North Florida is a God-centered vocational enrichment community where adults with unique abilities are empowered to discover their strengths, develop their talents, build meaningful relationships, and contribute to the world.
Our Citizens are artists, entrepreneurs, bakers, creators, friends, leaders, and so much more. Through meaningful opportunities, our Citizens discover what they can do—and, just as importantly, discover that what they do matters.
Because every person is uniquely and wonderfully made.
The BiG Difference
At BiG North Florida, we believe we are all created in God's image, uniquely and wonderfully made, with gifts, talents, and abilities to share. We don't begin with limitations. We begin with possibility. Our Citizens are encouraged to set goals, pursue their interests, discover their strengths, and dream BiG.
One of the clearest examples of this philosophy is Jacob, whose journey helped inspire the creation of BiG North Florida. For years, Jacob dreamed of becoming a minister. Through patience, encouragement, and an unwavering belief in his ability to communicate, Jacob worked with a youth pastor to develop a sermon. He typed his message letter by letter, taking the time he needed to express his thoughts and create something meaningful. When his message was complete, we helped bring his words to life so he could share them with others.
Jacob's story reminds us of something fundamental: A person's voice should never be defined by the way they communicate. When we presume competence and provide the right tools, time, encouragement, and opportunity, extraordinary possibilities can emerge.
That is the BiG Difference.
Our Citizens are each
UNIQUE LIKE A SUNFLOWER
Sunflowers have seeds that can lay dormant for years. Given the opportunity and the right conditions to grow, these seeds are activated and bloom into breathtaking flowers. BiG Citizens are like these seeds. Our nurturing environment may be the factor, like sunlight on a dormant seed, that helps them blossom into their full potential.
